Problem Description:

The current social problem that is plaguing many impoverished areas of Chicago is an abundance of high crime, school dropouts, teen pregnancy, illegal drug sales, single parent households and lack of resources. These problems are causing an adverse effect on the entire community.

Mission:

Save Our Streets' mission is to provide programs and resources to improve the present and future situations of the urban community.

Vision:

We envision the improvement in health, educational attainment, human welfare, and opportunities for youth, adults and  families in the urban community.

Target Audience:

Our target audience will be at-risk youth, ranging from ages 9-21 and their households. The focused areas are: communities where there’s a high rate of violence, illegal drug use, prostitution, and other dangerous activities.  These areas are located on the Southside and Westside of Chicago, such as Englewood, Lawndale, Washington Park, Pullman, and other respective communities that are in need of reform.

Goals:
  1.  Provide outreach services, training and resources to high  crime, at-risk, low-income communities

  2.  Provide educational, recreational, cultural,  health and lifelong  learning opportunities  for youth and adults

  3.  Ensure the safety and well being of at-risk  kids

  4.  Ensure families have an acceptable amount  of food or groceries within their household

  5.  Provide seasonal needs and resources
